Start a new project

Launching a new project on your Bpart platform? Great!

To create a project, go to the overview of your projects. This can be found in your organization's menu. On the project overview, you'll see a “new” button in the top right corner. Click the button, and you will see what types of projects you can create. Choose a participation project, an external project or a budget project and get started!

Depending on the type of project, you will be asked for some basic information. For example, the name and description of your project.

Are you setting up a new participation project? Pick your template or existing project to start from, and check which data may be cloned. Now choose the languages of your project and click on 'save'.

Congratulations, you have now created your project! You can now use the project settings wizard and go through all the settings. This way you can get started quickly and efficiently.

When you're ready to launch your project, you can use the project settings wizard again to check all your settings. You can trigger it at anytime via your project dashboard.

Tips & tricks to get better support

It's too bad you ran into an issue or unclarity, but do know we analyze all your requests and questions: it's on of our most powerful tools to improve our platform. Now that you have run into an issue, here are some tips and tricks you can do so we can help you better and faster!

Share the specific URLs

Share the URL or link of the page where you run into an issue. This can be a link to the admin module (starts with https://admin.bpart.eu) or to a public page on your platform (for example www.yourplatform.com/project/news).

Share a screen recording (video)

Take a video of your screen, while you are experiencing the problem. There are (free) tools to do this such as Loom or Awesomescreenshot.com.

Take one or multiple screenshots

Take screenshots that make the issue more clear to us or that support your question or problem. Most devices have built-in features to take screenshots:

Add a new user

A colleague or co-worker wants to get access to the admin interface or backoffice of your Bpart platform? Not a problem!

There is no limit to the amount of users, managers or moderators you grant access. External partners, for example a communication or research agency, can get access as well.

Via your organization menu, go to "Accounts", "Managers"
You'll see an overview of people who have access to your platform
Click on "New" in the upper right corner to add an extra account
Complete name, surname, e-mail and language preference
Hit the save or update button

Your colleague will receive an e-mail to activate and set up his or her account.

Did the e-mail not arrive within a few minutes?

Check the spam folder
Take a look at the e-mail address, no typo's?
Visit and use the forgot password function

Create live tiles

Live tiles are tiles or small call to actions you can add to your Bpart project. A live tile consists of a title, icon or image and a button. With live tiles, you can highlight specific actions, phases, calls or themes.

Types of live tiles

There's two types of live tiles: textual and counter. A textual live tile has a simple, textual title, while a counter has a dynamic title including a "count" variable. By using a counter, you can create a titel such as "already 7 ideas!" without the need for updating the number manually.

Create a live tile

Go to the content of your project and select "live tiles".

Define an internal title, that is not visible for participants
Select whether your live tile should be visible upon creation, and if the URL should open in a new tab
Choose your type: textual or counter
Did you pick a counter? Define your dynamic variable (amount of entries, participants, votes …)
Upload an image - optionally - and if needed define your alt text
Define the title, or titles if you have a counter, of your live tile
Create a strong call to action for your button text, and link the correct URL
Save your live tile

Dashboard: quickly toggle your live tiles on or off
Via content, live tiles: define the order using drag and drop, edit or remove

Question 6

Inform citizens with PDF documents

You might have a PDF document you want to share with your audience: a presentation, a report, notes, a statement … You can make this PDF available via your Bpart platform.

Step 1: upload the PDF on the web with a public URL

Upload your PDF document in your Bpart file or media library and copy-paste the public sharing URL.

You can also use a sharing URL from other file systems such as Dropbox or Google Drive, just make sure the URL is public!

Step 2: publish the PDF on your Bpart platform

There are two options: you can make a PDF available for download via link or button, or you can embed a PDF document. You can see both options on the screenshot below.

Option A: make the PDF available for download

Go to the page or news item and take 3 steps (see screenshot):

Type your call to action (for example "read the statement" or "download the full report").
Select the call to action and create a hyperlink. In the URL section, paste the public URL.
Click on 'save'.

Option B: embed the PDF

You can immediately visualize the PDF by embedding the document within an iframe. To do so, you to the page or news item and take the following steps:
Open the "source code" tab of the WYSIWYG text editor
Put in the iframe embed code
Replace "URL" with the public URL
