How to set the level of interaction and engagement of your topic?
When you involve citizens in your project via the interactive module on the platform, you have the possibility to set the level of interactivity. The different levels of interaction can be set per topic and can also be adjusted throughout the project so that it perfectly matches the steps of your project. In addition, it is also possible to combine certain settings of engagement with each other.
When you activate the Posting function, you allow the users of your platform to submit an entry to the platform. Only registered and logged in users can send an entry to the platform.
Example situation: You want to collect ideas from your users so they have a chance to contribute to the project.
By activating the Sharing function, you allow visitors to your platform to share other people's entries on social media channels. Only registered and logged in visitors can share entries online, unless you adjust the setting via the Expert Settings.
Example situation: You want visitors to be able to share each other's ideas so that more people talk about the project on social media channels.
You give visitors the chance to like or vote for an entry by activating this function. Only registered and logged in visitors can like or vote. In addition, you can set the number of likes or votes that a user can distribute.
Example situation: You have collected ideas from users and want to know what the most popular idea is.
When you activate the Commenting function, you give visitors the chance to respond to an entry or reaction from other visitors. The comments that visitors post do not go through the moderation of your platform, but are published directly on the platform. However, it is possible to remove comments from the platform, e.g. if they are inappropriate.
Example situation: You have posted a number of ideas on the platform and you want to know what the users think of them.
You can configure the settings of your topic a little more extensively using the Expert Settings. These settings can be found at the bottom of the topics page. The following items can be set using the Expert Settings:
When you activate this feature, you give visitors to your platform who do not have an account the opportunity to share user contributions on social media channels.
This feature shows the total interaction that has taken place on a post. This score includes the total number of votes or likes, total number of comments, and the number of times the post was shared. When you activate this feature, the total score will appear under the contributions, below the cup icon.
If you want your users to be allowed to share only a certain number of likes or votes, activate this feature and specify the maximum number.
You can change the colour of the topic banner (if you don't have an image as banner) by specifying a RGB/ HSL/HEX colour code in the Color function. When you don't do that, the topic banner will get the colour that is set in the house style (CSS file). To change the colour code type, click on the arrow button in the bottom right.
