Set up the moderation flow for your project

With Bpart, you choose per project how you moderate: beforehand (pre-moderation) or afterwards with AI as a safety net (post-moderation). This article explains how to set the moderation mode and personalise your confirmation pages. Want to know when to choose what first? Read all about the moderation flow.

The default setting

A project is set to pre-moderation by default. If you want to use post-moderation, you switch deliberately.

You change this setting as an administrator. It sits at project level: you can choose it separately for each project.

Where do you find the setting?

You can set the moderation mode in two places:

• In your project settings, under the Moderation tab.
• Via the project settings wizard: use it when setting up your project, or launch it from the top of your project dashboard.

Switching to post-moderation

1. Go to your project settings, Moderation tab.
2. Click switch to post-moderation.
3. You'll see a short explanation of the consequences. Confirm your choice, or cancel to stay on pre-moderation.
4. Save to make the change final.

In the confirmation you read what changes: new entries are published immediately, unless AI flags them as potentially inappropriate. AI-flagged entries then appear in your moderation list for approval, and automatically published entries can still be moderated afterwards. The change applies only to new entries: existing entries keep their current status.

Personalising your confirmation pages

After submitting, a participant lands on a confirmation page. You can customise the title, the text and the button (call-to-action) of that page yourself. Until you edit them, we show a default text.

You can set each page via your project settings. Which page a participant sees depends on your moderation mode:

• Pre-moderation: the confirmation page after submitting an entry.
• Post-moderation: in addition, two extra pages appear — one for a published (non-toxic) entry, and one for a held (potentially inappropriate) entry.

You fill in these texts per project language (NL, EN, FR, DE). Changes apply to entries submitted after saving.

Switching back to pre-moderation

Want to return to control beforehand? Switch back to pre-moderation the same way. Here too you first get a short explanation: new entries are no longer published automatically and require your approval. Confirm and save. This change also applies only to new entries.

Good to know

• You can flexibly adjust the moderation mode across the phases of your project. Think of an open ideas phase in post-moderation, followed by a phase in pre-moderation.
• A change is not retroactive: entries already submitted keep their status.
