# Managing menu items

Menu items allow you to control the navigation structure of your Bpart project. You can create, edit, delete, and organize menu links for both the top menu (header) and bottom menu (footer).
## Where to manage menu items

1. Go to **Content**
2. Click **Menu**

You will see an overview of all existing menu items, including their structure and placement (Header / Footer).

## Create a new menu item

1. Click the **+ New** button (top right) to create a top-level item
   **or**
2. Click the **+ icon** next to an existing item to create a sub-item

You can configure the following fields:

* **Name**: enter the label that will appear in the navigation (e.g. contact, discover the plan...)
* **URL**: a menu item must have a URL to redirect users correctly
* **Parent**: select a parent item if you want to create a nested (dropdown) menu item
* **Location**: choose where the menu item should appear (top menu / header, bottom menu / footer)

Click **Save** to create the menu item.

---

## Edit menu items

1. Click the **pencil** icon next to the item
2. Drag and drop menu items to change their order or hierarchy
3. Click the **trash icon** to delete the item

## Best practices

* Keep menu labels short and clear.
* Avoid too many top-level items.
* Use nesting to group related content.
* Avoid parents with only one nested item.
