How to track website behavior?
The Bpart platform provides you with analytics on users that register themselves:
Profile information
Posting entries, ideas or comments
Liking or voting behavior
In order to analyse website behavior, Bpart allows you to establish a connection with Google Analytics. This integration allows you to track which pages are visited, when, via which device ...
No, when activated, a website visitor can accept or refuse tracking via the well-known pop-up.
No, it is not mandatory. There are three options:
You do not wish to use Google Analytics. Please note: the information you collect is limited to people who actively participate (registration, comments ...), you have no information about the number of visitors who simply inform themselves.
You set up a Google Analytics tracking or measurement-ID (Google Analytics 4) and link it with your Bpart project.
A partner sets up a GA environment for you, and provides you or us with a Google Analytics measurement-ID. The data is then entered into the partner's environment, which you can access.
You can either create one yourself (free of charge) or get access to an existing one by using a Google Account. If you have questions on using a Google Analytics environment or account, it is best to contact your internal communication or ICT team.
You need a Google measurement-ID. You can recognise the GA4 measurement-ID by its structure: G-xxxxxx.
Please note: Older UA codes or tracking IDs will no longer generate new data as of 1 July 2023.
The measurement-ID can be retrieved from the Data Streams section (in the Admin menu). Open the stream you want to use and copy the measurement-ID. In the three images below you can see the steps you need to take.
You add the Google Analytics tag to your organisation settings. By doing so, all projects will automatically be tracked.
1: go to your organisation dashboard
2: input your tag, it usually starts with G-
3: hit save
If you wish to differentiate your key or setting per project, do not use organisation settings but manage the tag on project level via project settings.
