# Activating your survey and collecting responses

Once your survey form is ready, you can activate it and share it with participants.

## Activating your survey

Your survey is inactive by default — participants cannot access it until you activate it. On the survey detail page, toggle **Activate survey**. The status changes from Inactive to Active and participants can now open and submit the survey.

You can deactivate the survey at any time using the same toggle. Existing responses are not affected.

## Sharing the link

The public URL is shown on the survey detail page. Copy it and share it wherever you reach your participants — by email, on your website, via social media, or as a QR code.

> The URL is generated based on the path you defined when creating the survey. You can change the path in the survey settings, but changing the path after responses have been collected is not recommended, as existing links will no longer work.

The survey link is also included in your default Bpart URL picker, this means you can easily link the survey to menu items, a live tile, call to action, timeline... or any other module of your project.

## What participants see

When a participant opens the link, they see the survey start page (if enabled), followed by the question pages, the confirmation page, and finally the thank you page after submitting.

Participants do not need a Bpart account to fill in a survey: participating is anonymous (unless you ask for personal data in your survey of course).
